The day after

The morning after the end of the world.

The snow was 3 feet deep on the hood of my car. On the road side, it was only about a foot and half, but on the sidewalk side it was to my hips. I think we got 18-20 inches of snow, so the depth is from the wind effect. I’ve brushed off my car, and now I need to dig it out. I’m not going anywhere today, but tomorrow is a different story. I have to admit, I never had to dig out my car in Utah. I don’t have a shovel, so I’m waiting to borrow my landlord’s shovel. They’re using it to dig out their car right now.

playing “Blog Catch-Up” :) I love your post about the snow in DC – when I lived in VA, we had a kid in our ward from Edmonton, and we all carpooled to seminary. If it snowed at all (2cm!) we’d all be bundled up and shivering, and he’d stroll out of his house at 6am in a Hawaiin shirt and Bermuda shorts. We hated him, but now that I’ve lived up here, I understand… it wasn’t actually that cold. :)

I hate digging out my car. Having covered parking is worth the extra cost to me, cuz I hate hate HATE digging cars out of the snow. hate it. (did I mention that I don’t like digging my car out of the snow??) :)

Yeah, if we got snow a lot, covered parking would be TOTALLY worth it.
