Mid-week randomness – Moroccan Independence Day version

1. The “you’re about to run out of gas, moron” light came on this morning in my car. I must remember to do something about that when I head home this evening.

2. Five people in the elevator the other day. I was the only one not texting.

3. Cool! Wish I could have seen it! A meteor!

4. I’m not going to complete the paperwork to officially claim Canadian citizenship. I finally spoke the “Tiger Corp” security guy about how it would affect my security clearance, and though his response was initially careful and measured and contained no absolutes, once I phrased the question correctly (since he was giving me useless government/corporate-speak when asked a direct question), his eventual response could best be paraphrased as, “Are you insane? Of course you’ll lose your clearance! And if by some miracle you didn’t, it would be forever gummed up, complicating your employment from that day forward! You would be a fool to get dual citizenship, and I can’t believe you’re even asking me this!” So, I will remain (sniff) only a U.S. citizen.

5. NaNoWriMo continues on. My word count is still in the green, which means I should actually reach 50,000 words by 30 November. There is some absolutely dreadful writing in those words, but such is NaNoWriMo. Luckily, there’s also some pretty decent writing in those words, too.

I saw that light last night. Calmly reading a nice horror novel and the room lit up. I looked out the window, but by the that time it was gone. I didn’t know what it was until I just read this.
