Black hole or not, I want to be clean!

I passed the 20,000-word mark (NaNoWriMo).

Last night I had a dream that I was on a spaceship headed back to Earth. We stopped for the night on a planet with a hotel. (What? You don’t envision space travel to be like a long road trip?) This planet, unfortunately, was in the process of collapsing into a black hole. But no worries, because it wouldn’t happen until the next day. The planet was smaller than Earth, so it had a lower gravity that night. By the next morning, however, it had started shrinking (i.e., collapsing into a black hole) and thus had higher gravity.

We needed to get going, but I wanted to take a shower first. I really, really, really wanted to take a shower first. But I was thwarted by the hotel. The staff was painting all over inside to get it all spruced up before it was destroyed. I was incredibly frustrated by this. Why were they painting when it would just be smashed up in a few hours?! All of their showers were getting painted, and the gravity was getting greater and greater, making it harder and harder to walk. But I kept wandering the halls searching for an available shower.

I woke up then, so never did get that shower. The first thing I thought of when I woke up was, “Silly subconscious, a planet isn’t going to have enough mass to become a black hole!”

Oh come on. You’ve worked long enough in the government acquisition process to know the answer to this question: they had a work number, and the funds had to be spent.

LOL! You make an excellent point. Clearly work has corrupted me more than my conscious mind even realizes.
